We had a fast check-in, the room was silent and practical with a view. This hotel had a very central position also close to more than one plaza from which we could catch buses or trolleys.

The Wettstein was a very good value in a beautiful city. The room was very small, the hotel has a minimalist vibe. That said, the staff was very helpful during my very brief stay. Breakfast, included, was good and ample. The location just across the river from the city center and close to a bus line was perfect. Plus, they offered a free transit ticket for one day - a very nice perk!

Although they could not find my reservation on the Booked.net system, was allowed to get a room....The breakfast was good, fresh fruit and choice of bread and such, freshly squeezed orange juice, good coffee.Free cookies offered by the receptioniste ,after complaining as a compensation for the poor standard of room,me being not too impressed. The bed was ok,the internet too.The personel excellent.
The room on the 1st floor was hot, no aircon ;could not open the window for fresh air because it was on a very busy road. When I came in the room have immediately complained and asked for a room on the other side of the hotel ,but since 'late' arrival (could not find my booking) that was impossible. Also could hear people speaking at the reception in the late evening, which woke me up...so when you book this hotel write in the remarks box that you want a quite room on the 'park' side ,Have read there are different sorts of rooms in this hotel, also with aircon ,but for this price ,this particular room was in my opinion not worth the Chf 190 !

Convenient transport links made it easy to explore.
I spent a miserable night in an attic room that was cramped, noisy, and unbearably hot. The small window provided little ventilation, and without air conditioning, it was impossible to get comfortable. The receptionist was friendly but could do nothing to alleviate the discomfort of paying 180 euros for such a terrible experience.

Quiet location easy access to trams for City centre. Bright and clean room. I would have liked a bath and shower unit was very small so not good enough for a big chap like me! Good toiletries and hairdryer. Hotel had parking facilities.
Shower unit was too small as were bath towels.

Very solid 3 star hotel with very clean rooms, friendly staff, and good breakfast ( fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, cereals, etc.). The location was also very good - the river and main town area was easily accessible by foot and by bus ( for which we were given free passes by the hotel). I asked for an extra bed for my 7 year old daughter (we also have a baby that slept in our bed) and they actually gave us an adjoining room with two extra beds. I would stay here again if we go back to Basel.

Breakfast was delicious. very close to city center so conviniet for sight seeing. Small cosy swiss restaurant near by. I'd stay there in my future visits to Basel
In the morning, rooms looking through the street were very noisy.

Had a lovely time with my family! We enjoyed the sunny terrace and the cozy garden, perfect for relaxing afternoons. The room was a bit warmer than we'd have liked, but it didn't ruin our overall experience. Definitely opt for the breakfast buffet – it's worth it! ☀️

The only concerns I had were:1. the WiFi in room 3 was terrible as much of the time I could not get a signal. 2. In other hotels I stayed at in Switzerland (mostly Best Western) the tea and coffee were free. The Wettstein charges for tea and coffee.
